Hurt

Entroducing.... one of my favorite lyrics of all time: Hurt by Johnny Cash

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hold
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Cash isn't the most upbeat singer there is around. Might I recommend something happier, like Dolly Parton! Always better to listen to her sing about her orbs than Cash drone on about how beat up he is.

Ha, not a big fan of uplofting music, unfortunately. Full names appreciated next time. :)

I'll use my full name when I sign up for credit cards or a police officer is waving a gun in my face asking for my particulars. You're not going to try and sell me something, are you? I'm on the "do not call" list.
